It has been wet and miserable all day so I have not been able to take a very good pic of the finished Pierrot but here it is. Just a reminder that the Pierrot designs are from the Quiltery.
Pierrot Quilt |
This quilt was constructed using quilt as you go techniques, specifically Method 3 from my Hints and Tips. There is no hand sewing in this method.
Back of Pierrot |
Each of the Pierrot designs was stitched over a 200 mm x 200mm ( 8 inch x 8 inch)pre stitched quilt grid design from Chrystal Embroidery. Anita is working to put them on her website for you to purchase at a good price.
I will let you know when they are ready for purchase. I used a different grid for very design.
Anita is also doing some 5x7 grid designs for those who have that size hoop.

I stitched around each design with rows of parallel straight stitching on my machine. The border was done with rows of free form wavy stitching, very easy to do with a walking foot.

Quilt Border |
Each corner is one of the faces stitched on a 4x4 grid.
I am writing the tutorial at the present time and will have it out to those who receive my Quiltery projects over the next day or so.
Hi Vicki
ReplyDeleteI love your Pierrot quilt, I have been following your blog for some time but I have never commented, I would love to be on your mailing list for updates and projects, can you please tell me how I go about it. Your embroidery is stunning, I absolutely love your Feathered Star from HoopSisters but unfortunately there is no shop near me participating so I have to wait until 2015 to purchase the designs. Thanks again for a wonderful and informative blog.
