Round Up of Bits and Pieces

We are definitely in the middle of winter here in Tasmania. Cold dreary days do not do much for me at all. However, one daffodil has decided to make an early appearance so spring is trying to come.
I have just finished the Hoopsisters 2105 Mystery quilt.I have used fabrics i had in my stash and went for clear bright colours so that the elements of the design stood out.

Roberta and Sandy have both completed their BFC 10 000 member BOM that I just finished the lessons for.
Roberta has used the black, white and red that I did, whilst Sandy used a coloured fabric to stitch her designs on. It is so inspiring when we can see how everyone chooses and interprets their own colour palette.

Karen has completed Block 1 of the new HIA Toys For  Boys BOM that we have just started.

The instructions for Block 2 will go out over the next day or so.

Don't forget to pop over to Julia's Needle designs to pick up their sewing alpha in progress.

If you are looking for a lovely heart shaped pot holder to make for a gift perhaps for Christmas in July you can find a great tutorial here at A Spoonful of Sugar. I stumbled across whilst looking at their recipes. Make sure to check out all the other great craft ideas they have on their blog.

Now that I have a little more free time I have been going through some of the websites I like to visit. Don't forget that  the Bernina website has lots of free stuff. Be warned you can spend hour there!

They have an online magazine called  Through the Needle that you can download issues of. There is a lot of valuable information and many projects in them. Occasionally you will find links to free design you can use with some of the projects in them. Click on each issue, a new page will open and links to download are on the right hand side of the newly opened page. Just be aware that not all formats are available and you may have to convert them to your preferred format to use them.

They also have Inspiration issues along with free downloads of designs.

Their Tips and Tutorials page is well worth a look even if you do not own a  Bernina sewing machine or have Bernina software.

If you haven't done so hop on over to Creative Machine Embroidery Magazine website and download their freebies for the current July/August issue. Why not have a go at making a pair of ballet flats to use as slip ons with the free pattern available for download
