Rounded Top Scissor Case |
I have just made a refinement to the folded fabric scissor holder. The asymmetrical look at the top was a bit irritating so decided to take to my original pattern with the scissors and now have this rounded top version. I also made this one blunt across the bottom without the long point.
I have provided the pattern for you below. You will need to click on the pattern picture , when it opens up in the new window right click and save picture as. When you print the pattern out you need to make sure it is the size on the pattern, 8 3/8" wide or as close to that as you can get. Print it as large as your printer will allow and if you need to add extra around the outside to achieve the correct size you can do that.

Take the long edge on the left (with the turning hole in it) and tuck it in under the folded back piece on the right

ReplyDeleteThis will be my second sewing project! Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki, I've tried to save the pattern and have followed your instructions but do not get the + sign and I've hovered my mouse all over the pattern. What am I doing wrong? I'm using Google Chrome if that makes any difference.
ReplyDeleteHi Boo, I'm not Vicki, but I don't get the Blue Circle either. I use Firefox and I think it's close to Google Chrome. I just hover over the pattern above. Right Click. Select "Open in New Tab." That gives me the large version in the new tab. (I tried Right Click, then "view." I only got a small version to view.) Hope this helps!
DeleteHow very kind & generous of you to share this wonderful pattern! Thank you!!!

ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm a beginner sewer and quilter and this was a nice pattern and project to make and to practice my skills. I made the blunt version but did find it helpful to refer back to the original pointy post, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea - never know what to put my scissors in when I want to take them on a sewing session away from home. Thank you for the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tutorial and the easily to interpret instructions complete with lots of photos. dress fabrics
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern! Asymmetrical would bother me too. Love the rounded top. I think I'll add a button hole on top to hang it up. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern. I'm always taking sewing items with me when I travel or go somewhere for a weekend. This will be great. I made one today and am so pleased with it. I put a loop on the top with cording so I can hang it. When I'm not using it, I will hang it in my sewing room for decoration. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDear Vicki, I am a quilter/seamstress/crafter, with a passion for small items. I made one of these Scissor holders, and the girls at my craft/sewing classes, asked if I would show them how. I am writing to make sure I am not breaking any patent laws, and to give you the courtesy for your creativity. Please let me know, if I have your approval. Billie
ReplyDeleteHi Vickie, I just love your Scissor holder. I will be making one maybe two today. Thank you so much for the pattern and the pictures on how to sew it.
