International Volunteer Day

Today is International Volunteer Day. It is celebrated each year on 5th December and was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985. I know that many of you in the sewing world contribute innumerable hours as well as supplies etc in making and distributing quilts, pillowcases, crochet hats etc to many many charitable causes. If all of these hours were tallied the final number would be mind blowing to say the least. I know that the few of hours we spend each week as Friends of Lillico penguin guides along with all of the other volunteer park guides in Tasmania save the government over $2 million a year.

Give yourselves a big pat on the back for the hard work you do.
